Automated calibration of material cards for punctiform and planar joints is presented as a faster route to reliable FE simulation inputs. Tailored clamping concepts combined with quasi‑static and high‑speed tests on the IMPETUS® pendulum system capture realistic force‑displacement behavior across strain rates. The workflow links experiments, optimization routines, and explicit FE models to characterize full joint performance. Dynamic shear and head‑tension tests highlight strain‑rate sensitivity, while LS‑DYNA cards such as MAT_100 are iteratively refined to match physical results, producing consistent, high‑quality data for predicting mechanical and adhesive joint behavior.
